Copperton is the small, historic township at the far west edge of the valley, built in the 1920s by the copper company to house workers at the Bingham Canyon mine. It is unlike anywhere else in Salt Lake County: a planned company town of modest period homes on a compact grid, largely preserved, sitting right at the mouth of the canyon.
Copperton is our oldest housing stock and our most unusual. These are 1920s homes, many with detached garages built for cars far smaller than today's, on a grid that has not changed in a century. Openings are narrow, headers are low, framing is original, and the correct answer is almost never a standard modern package. We treat Copperton as heritage work and we measure everything.
